Parish Nurse Ministry

Our Parish Nurse ministry covers a wide variety of health related topics, offering support and resources for our congregations. In the video below, our parish nurse, Bev Wise, offers encouragement around keeping your vaccinations current as preventative health care.

In the August 2021 Messenger Highlight: Journaling

In August Messenger, Parish Nurse Bev shares about the mental and spiritual health benefits of a journaling practice. Click here to access resources from the WELCA about trying out journaling in your daily life.

Areas of Parish Nurse Ministry

Annual Blood Drives - Zion hosts a mobile Mayo Clinic blood drive twice a year, usually once in January and once in June. Giving blood is a simple way to give the gift of life to someone in need. Stay tuned for dates for future blood drives!

Newsletter Articles - Each month, the Messenger newsletter contains an article, written by a member of the Health Ministry Team, about a seasonal health topic. Topics range from blood pressure to the importance of wearing sunscreen, from healthy recipes to proper hydration.

Visits - In addition to pastoral visits, parish nurse calls and visits offer additional support for individuals with health concerns. If you would like to set up a visit with our parish nurse, contact parishnurse@zion-stewartville.org
